Principal’s Welcome

I would like to extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of the St. Ignatius Parish School community.

St. Ignatius is a vibrant school of 108 students and 16 staff, supported by the Bourke Catholic Parish and the community of Bourke. The school is part of the Catholic Education System administered by the Wilcannia-Forbes Diocese. St. Ignatius is a co-educational school, with five classes from Kindergarten to Year Six, and has been a part of the Bourke community for over 150 years.

Our school’s vision is to be a nurturing, faith-filled community, inspiring flourishing life long learners. We have strong partnerships with all in our community – students, staff, parents, parishioners and the wider Bourke community. We are working together, with shared goals to achieve positive educational outcomes and continuous improvement  for each one of our students. We seek to support every student at our school academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally.

Our school is a centre of culture, learning and evangelisation within our parish community, where the Gospel is lived and the dignity of people is respected in the tradition of the Catholic Church.

As principal, I look forward to working with you, your child and your family and hope that your child finds, in our school, a happy, friendly and positive learning environment which allows them to grow to their fullest potential.

Principal
